Occasionally people tell me how ‘lucky’ I am.  I’m the first to admit, I was incredibly lucky to win Olympic Gold, luck however plays it’s part in everything.   Training five hours a day, six days a week for twelve years to put myself into position to win Olympic Gold is not lucky.  I gave so much of life to my sport because walking away unsatisfied was simply not an option.  My family and I had invested too much.

In this case my “luck” was simply a matter of years of preparation and being in a position to capitalize on an opportunity once it presented itself.

Everyone is fortunate to have, at different times, opportunities.  When your opportunity presents itself will you be in position and prepared to ‘Do A Bradbury’?
